Stuart (Stu) L. Ballou, 80 (August 29, 1927 - February 8, 2008) was the loving husband of Mollie Ballou, father to Doug and Brian, and grandfather to Lyndsey and Matthew.  Stu was the “Florissant Veteran of the Year 2007” and served as State Commander for the Korean War Vets.  Stu joined the SAR on August 26, 1996.  He was a Charter Member of the Fernando de Leyba Chapter.  Stu and his wife were residents of Florissant, MO.  There was a memorial service celebrating Stu's life, on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation at noon for family and friends held at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, MO 63031.  He was cremated, and in lieu of flowers, it was requested that any memorials be sent in the form of a donation to the St. Louis Veterans Home Committee, 10600 Lewis & Clark Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63136. Interment was at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
