Roger Fuqua

Roger Charles Fuqua 87 (February 21, 1917 - January 3, 2005) was the loving husband of Frances Fuqua.  Roger was born in Missouri and died Monday at the Veterans Administration Nursing Home in Claremore, OK.  Survivors include his wife, Frances; a sister, Fannie; a son, Charles; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie Davis and Evelyn and Pat Andrews; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  He served as a Private in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Roger joined the SAR on March 31, 1984.  He was a Charter Member of the Fernando de Leyba Chapter.  He served as Chaplain of the Spirit of St. Louis SAR Chapter from 1984 through 1988.  The Meritorious Service Medal was awarded to Compatriot Roger C. Fuqua by the Spirit of St. Louis Chapter.  Roger and his wife were last residents of Pawhuska, OK.  Services were 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Pawhuska.  His son-in-law, Brother Pat Andrews officiated.  He is buried in the Pawhuska City Cemetery in Pawhuska, OK 74036-2603.

 

Roger will be greatly missed.
