The Passing of Compatriot Robert W. Rogers

Compatriot Robert (Bob) W. Rogers of St. Charles Missouri passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 92.

Loving husband of the late Ruth Aldine Rogers; beloved son of the late Raymond W. Rogers and Gladys Wildpret; devoted father of Compatriot Kevin (Simona) Rogers, Kathy (the late Samuel) Mejia, Keith (Michelle) Rogers, and Karen E. (Milton) Horne; cherished grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 10; dear brother of Kathleen E. (the late Harold) Smith; brother-in-law of Rana Seal; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Robert is also preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Wildpret.

Robert led a life defined by service and love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His dedication to his country was evident in his six years of unwavering service in the United States Air Force and service in the Korean War. But his commitment extended far beyond his military tenure. Robert’s devotion to his wife spanned an incredible 70 years, a testament to the enduring love and companionship they shared. As a devout member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1964, he found solace and community in his faith, embodying its principles in his everyday actions.

Beyond his personal life, Robert was a pillar in his community as the owner of the First Capitol and Harvester Dairy Queens, proudly displaying his affinity for the brand with a personalized license plate. His influence extended beyond his businesses, resonating with many employees he mentored and guided, leaving an impactful and lasting
