Biography
Thomas Blackledge identified himself as a tanner in his will. He served two terms in the colonial Pennsylvania legislature, 1756-1758, where he played a minor role. It is unclear if he was a Quaker, though his first wife and children were. It seems as if he may have never joined. In 1778 he signed an oath of allegience to Pennsylvania.
